چکیده
Supermassive black hole binaries (SMBHBs) should form frequently in galactic nuclei as a result of galaxy mergers. At sub-parsec separations, become strong sources low-frequency gravitational waves (GWs), targeted by Pulsar Timing Arrays (PTAs). We used recent upper limits on continuous GWs from the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav) 11yr dataset to place constraints putative SMBHBs nearby massive galaxies. compiled comprehensive catalog ~44,000 galaxies local universe (up redshift ~0.05) and populated them with hypothetical binaries, assuming that total mass binary is equal SMBH derived global scaling relations. Assuming circular equal-mass emitting at NANOGrav's most sensitive frequency 8nHz, we found 216 are within sensitivity volume. ranked potential based GW detectability calculating signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) such would induce NANOGrav array. placed chirp binaries. For 19 galaxies, only very unequal-mass allowed, secondary less than 10 percent primary, roughly comparable SMBHB Milky Way. Additionally, were able exclude delivered major mergers (mass least 1/4) several these also first limit density purely data.

Supermassive Black Hole Binaries as Galactic Blenders
This paper focuses on the dynamical implications of close supermassive black hole binaries both as an example of resonant phase mixing and as a potential explanation of inversions and other anomalous features observed in the luminosity profiles of some elliptical galaxies. The presence of a binary comprised of black holes executing nearly periodic orbits leads to the possibility of a broad reso...
متن کاملDistribution of black hole binaries around galaxies
Compact object mergers are one of the favorite models of GRBs. It has been noted that in opposition to the collapsars, compact object mergers do not necessarily take place in the host galaxies, and may travel outside of them. With the discovery of afterglows and identification of host galaxies one can measure the distribution of GRBs with respect to their host galaxies. This distribution has be...
متن کاملFormation and coalescence of cosmological supermassive-black-hole binaries in supermassive-star collapse.
We study the collapse of rapidly rotating supermassive stars that may have formed in the early Universe. By self-consistently simulating the dynamics from the onset of collapse using three-dimensional general-relativistic hydrodynamics with fully dynamical spacetime evolution, we show that seed perturbations in the progenitor can lead to the formation of a system of two high-spin supermassive b...
متن کاملA three-stage search for supermassive black-hole binaries in LISA data
Gravitational waves from the inspiral and coalescence of supermassive black-hole (SMBH) binaries with masses m1 ∼ m2 ∼ 10 are likely to be one of the strongest sources for the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA). We describe a three-stage data-analysis pipeline designed to search for and measure the parameters of SMBH binaries in LISA data. The first stage uses a time– frequency track-sea...
متن کاملThe Effect of Orbital Eccentricity on Gravitational Wave Background Radiation from Supermassive Black Hole Binaries
A compact binary on an eccentric orbit radiates gravitational waves (GWs) at all integer harmonics of its orbital frequency. In this study, we investigate the effect of orbital eccentricity on expected gravitational background radiation (GWBR) from supermassive black hole (SMBH) binaries in galaxy nuclei. For this purpose, we formulate the power spectrum of GWBR from cosmological evolving eccen...
